Willis Marion "Bobee" Browning, Jr.

A Graveside service for Willis Marion “Bobee” Browning, Jr., 89, of Barnwell, SC will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 2 o’clock p.m. at the Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road, Barnwell, SC with the Reverend Dale Hutto officiating. A viewing will be held on Monday from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC. Honored to serve as Honorary Pallbearers are: Ronnie Kelly, Terry Hutson, Keith Zissette, Joe Todd Bradley, Josh Grubbs, and Members of the Barnwell County Leathernecks Marine Corp League Detachment 1227. Born in Barnwell, SC he was a son of the late Willis Marion Browning, Sr. and Elizabeth Ray Browning and was married to the late Jo Craig Browning. Bobee attended Columbia Bible College and became an Ordained Minister in 1959 but never took a formal church position. He was a charter member of Folly Beach Baptist Church and retired as a Maintenance Technician from West Vasco in Charleston, SC. He served in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict, was a member of the Barnwell County Marine Corp League, and loved fishing and hunting.

Survivors include a daughter, Darlene (Wayne) Wagener of Cottageville, SC; a son, Willis M. “Rocky” (Susan) Browning, III of Statesville, NC; sisters, Betty Jones of Blackville, SC and Marlene Estridge of Folly Beach, SC; special friends- Rhonda, Terry and lots of the Meadowbrook neighborhood, who he loved dearly!; grand and great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Black Browning and a brother-in-law, Billy Jones.
