Willie "Marty" Croft, Sr.

Funeral services for Willie Martin “Marty” Croft, Sr., 66, of Olar, SC, will be held at three o’clock p.m., Monday, April 1, 2024 at Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church, Barnwell, SC with the Reverend Timmy Gunnells officiating. Burial will follow in the Croft Family Cemetery, 435 Zissett Dr., Olar, SC 29843. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Marty passed away at home on Wednesday, March, 27, 2024.

Born in Bamberg County, SC, he was a son of the late Charles Henry Croft and Nellie Ruth Collins Croft. He worked as a truck driver for Hayne Towne Farms and APC Trucking and also worked as a Mechanic at SRS. He enjoyed fishing and loved planting and caring for his garden each spring. “You Gonna Learn” was his favorite saying. He was a hard-working man who always provided for his family and had a heart of gold. Spending time with his grandkids and sharing holidays was his favorite thing to do. He previously served in the U. S. National Guard.

Survivors include his loving wife, Wanda Gail Zissett Croft of the home; children, Will (Shirley) Croft, Jr. of Barnwell, Brian (Emily) Croft of Olar, and Chasity Williams of Neeses; grandchildren, Tyler, Stan, Grace, Michael, Kaden, Kaleb, Brian, Willow, Lillee, Joe, Heather, and Jamie; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Priester (Bill Wilson), Wanda Smith (Glen Black) and Charlene (Mike) Blevins; sisters-in-law, Gwen (Bob) Collins, Brenda Colley, and Kathy (Kenny) Jones; brothers-in-law, Stanley (Lynn) Zissett, Andy (Marie) Zissett, and Chris (Becky) Zissett; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs and side-kicks “Sweet Pea” and “Bill”.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Mackie Croft; nephew, Dalton Zissett; great nephew, Noah Turpin; brother-in-law, David Colley and his father and mother-in-law, Sheldon and Nita Zissett.
