William Francis Lamb, Jr., SMSgt. Ret

William Francis ‘Frank’ Lamb, Jr, age 93, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 in Boiling Springs, SC. Frank was married for 58 years to Wilhelmina Thompson Lamb who passed in 2008. Frank and Wilhelmina had 4 children; Edna McMillan (and husband Doug), Deborah Sears (and husband Ed), William Francis ‘Bill’ Lamb III, deceased (and wife Julie) and James Edward Lamb (and wife Amy). There are 7 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Frank is also survived by his brother Bobby Lamb.

Frank retired from the US Air Force after 30 years as a Senior Master Sargent, having completed tours of duty in the US as well as Turkey, England, Alaska and Taiwan. Frank and Wilhelmina retired to Denmark, South Carolina to be near family. He continued a very active life while working at several companies and extensive travel to be with his children and grandchildren. Frank was a lifetime Clemson fan. With several children graduating from Clemson, he loved attending Football games with family.

The family will have a lifetime of memories related to visits by Frank at family gatherings. Cooking was always at the center of Lamb gatherings and Frank was master of the grill, free with his advice on how to cook. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories to his friends and family. In 2018, Frank moved from Denmark to Inman, SC to be closer to his children.

A visitation will be held at one p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Denmark followed by the Funeral at two p.m. with his son James “Jim” Lamb officiating. Burial with full U.S. Air Force Honors will be held in the Willow Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, 1956 Willow Swamp Rd. Norway, SC 29113.  

The family has asked that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Denmark, P.O. Box 325 Denmark, SC 29042 the Wounded Warriors, 4899 Belfort Road, Suit 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or to Gentiva Hospice, 101 North Pine St., Suit 215, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
