Luther “Walter” Proctor, 79, of Williston, SC passed away at home on Friday, May 16, 2025. Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with Reverend David Richardson officiating; burial will follow in the Williston Cemetery with military honors accorded. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Monday, May 19th at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Will Jeffcoat, Duey Martin, Luke Proctor, Robert Proctor, Ethan Randall and Trevor Randall.
Born in Old Ellenton, SC, he was a son of the late Casey Jones Proctor, Sr. and Lillian Muns Proctor. He retired having worked as a crane operator at Savannah River Site. He was a member of the Operating Engineer Local # 470. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and hanging out with his friends. He loved eating out and especially loved a good buffet. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Betty Hunt Proctor; daughters, Deanna Proctor of Aiken, SC; Kim Randall and Wanda (Steven) Jeffcoat all of Williston, SC; a son, Doyle (Jennifer) Proctor of Aiken, SC; a brother, Casey J. (Linda) Proctor, Jr.; grandchildren, Kayla (Duey) Martin, Rebecca (James) Boatright, Trevor (Anna Beth) Randall, Sarah (Nate) Miller, Laura (Austin) Bauer, Will Jeffcoat, Ethan Randall, Georgia Proctor, Luke Proctor and Katie Parrish; a great grandson, Landon Thomas and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gayle Proctor; a sister, Carolyn H. Watson; a brother, George Franklin “Frank” (Barbara) Proctor, a nephew, Lonnie Hinkle; great grandchild, McKenzie Bauer and a son-in-law, Joe Randall.
