Virginia "Ginny" (Anderson) Nix

Mary Virginia “Ginny” Anderson Nix, 94, of Williston, SC passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025.  Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Monday, September 8, 2025 at Elko Baptist Church with the Reverend Jeremy Creech officiating; burial will follow in the Williston Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday, and other times at her home.  Memorial contributions may be given to Elko Baptist Church, PO Box 277, Elko, SC 29826, and will be designated for the Janie Chapman Offering.

She was the daughter of the late John Anderson and Mary Looper Anderson, and was married to the late Russell W. Nix for 37 years.  She graduated from Winthrop University and taught school in Denmark and Williston-Elko.  She was a member of Elko Baptist Church where she faithfully served for many years.  She enjoyed many hobbies, but most of all spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter Mary Beth (James) Moore of Williston; sons Barry (Stephanie) Nix of Elko, and Michael (Patti) Nix of Williston; a sister Pat Henderson; a brother Davis Anderson; grandchildren Jacob Nix, Ashley Nix, Brandon Nix, Drew Nix (fiancé Hannah), Jordan Nix (fiancé Jeremy); great grandchildren Jonah Nix and Maddox Nix.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Frances Seaborn and Edythe (T. Ray) Hinton, and a brother-in-law Phil Henderson.

The family sends a heartfelt thank you to Daybreak and their caregivers Otisa Sherman and Melissia Bodiford.  Also, many thanks given to Trudy Barr, Tara Tyler, and Kelci Barr-Bernasconi for all the love, care, and concern that they have shown “Miss” Ginny.
