Thelma Lynham Obituary

Thelma Ann Dorothy Warnes Lynham, 87, of Williston, SC formerly of West Springfield, MA passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020. She was married to the late John Davies Lynham; born on May 22, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Pettitt and Sydney Charles Warnes in New York City. She lived in various places both in this county and England until the beginning of World War II, when her family moved to New York City. She attended NYC Schools including PS6, Manhattan, Hunter High School and earned a B.A. from Hunter College in 1954. She was christened in the Episcopal Church and has been an active church member, serving a Church School teacher, lay reader and lay Eucharistic minister. She also served on the Vestry and conducted the children’s services on Sunday mornings. She was active as a lay reader and member of St. Margaret’s Guild of the Church of the Atonement, Westfield, MA. She married John D. Lynham in NYC in 1955.  She was also a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and operated the cookie sales for the former Pioneer Valley Council and was also on the Board of Directors of the Girl Scout Council.

Survivors include her daughter Elizabeth “Liza” and her husband Ed LaCroix of Williston, SC; grandchildren Brittany and Justin LaCroix and great grandchildren Kaydence, Parker, and Rylan.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Philip Sydney Warnes.
