A Celebration of Life Service for Stanley “Stan” Ray Howard and Tedda Howard, of Windsor, SC will be held at three o’clock, Monday, December 4, 2023 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Elko, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 in Santa Anna Cemetery, Coleman TX. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Red Cross, 1314 Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC 29803 or the Connie Maxwell Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1178 Greenwood, SC 29648. Stan passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 and Tedda passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023.
Born in Coleman, TX, Stan was the son of the late Donald Ray Howard and Emily Louise McGregor Howard and was the widower of Tedda Howard whom he married on May 28, 1989. He was a 1971 graduate of Coleman High School, in 1975 earned a BS in Engineering Technology from Texas A & M and in 1977 received his Master’s Degree in Industrial Technology. From 1977 – 88 he worked for Chicago Bridge and Iron “CBI” and during this time worked at over 25 locations. After working 31 years, Stan retired as a welding material principal engineer having worked at the Savannah River National Lab. During this time he worked for E. I. DuPont, Westinghouse, and Savannah River Nuclear Solutions. He was a member of the American Welding Society and was a Certified Welding Instructor. He was President of the Astronomy Club of Augusta and Vice-President of Observing. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he led the Brotherhood for a number of years and was a member of the Adult II Sunday School class.
Survivors include his daughter, Agnes Marguerite Howard of Aiken, SC; a sister, Donna Sue (Scott) Brown of San Antonio, TX; a brother, Ronnie Wayne (Beth) Howard of College Station, TX; an uncle, Jimmy (Barbara) McGregor; and a number of nephews, Glenn Pearson, Robby Pearson, Brian Howard, Jim Ferguson and Fred Ferguson.
