Sherrie (Barnhart) Dyson

Sherrie Barnhart Dyson, 86 of Barnwell, SC passed away at home on March 22, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Funeral services for Sherrie with be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Folk Funeral Home Chapel in Williston, at 3 p.m., with the Reverend Mark Watford officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.  Burial will follow in the Williston Cemetery.  Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jordan Toole, Jared Toole, Nathaniel Toole, Jeremy Roland, Jason Widener, Blake Towne and Zachary Massengale.  Honorary pallbearer will be Cameron Massengale.    

Born in Davidson, Alabama, on February 23, 1939.  She was the daughter of the late Cecil O. Barnhart and Louise P. Barnhart and was married to James C. “Jimmy” Dyson for 43 years.  Sherrie was a 1960 graduate of Baptist School of Nursing in Columbia, SC.  She was an R.N. for Barnwell County Hospital, Allied General Gulf and Savannah River Site.  When she retired, Sherrie continued her nursing at other facilities to include Baptist Hospital Oncology, Williston Nursing Home, Barnwell Nursing Home and Home Health.  She was a member of Barnwell First Baptist Church.

Survivors in addition to her husband Jimmy; daughters, Rhonda (Dale) Toole and Lisa (Robbie) Massengale; grandchildren, Nicholas (Lexi) Toole of Columbia, SC, Jordan (fiancé Audrey Mallard) of Columbia, SC, Jared (Olivia) Toole of Barnwell, Nathaniel (Lauren) Toole of Starkville, MS, Melissa Owens, Zachary Massengale, Cameron Massengale all of Barnwell, SC.; great-grandchildren, Parker and Anslee Owens and Henry Toole of Barnwell; sisters, Sandra Jo Babb, Lana Barnhart Widener and Robbie Barnhart Roland and Gail Walden of Aiken, SC along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Sherrie was predeceased by brother in laws, Legree Dyson, Jimmy Babb and Tony Roland and  mother in law, Edna Dyson. 

Memorial donations can be made to the Williston Cemetery Fund or Barnwell First Baptist Church in Sherrie’s memory.
