Ruth Loudermilk Obituary

Ruth A. Loudermilk, 89, of Aiken, SC passed away on March 1, 2024.  Graveside services will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Monday, March 4, 2024 at Southlawn Cemetery in Aiken, with Ronnie Rogers officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer’s Association, 3223 Sunset Blvd. Suite 100, West Columbia, SC 29169 or Millbrook Baptist Church, 223 S. Aiken Blvd, Aiken, SC 29803.

Born in Covington, VA, she was a daughter of the late Robert Edward Lee Ailstock and Carrie Mae Adams and was first married to the late Carl Ray Love for 42 years having lived in Orlando, FL. She was the manager of Dunn and Bradstreet for many years while living in Orlando. After leaving
Florida, she and Ray made Williston, SC their home. While in Williston, she was the assistant administrator of Silver Springs Nursing Home for many years.  After the death of her husband, Ray Love, she moved to Aiken in 1999 and later married Frank Loudermilk with whom she was married to for 22 years. She was a devout Christian and was a faithful member of Millbrook Baptist Church for many years.  She loved working in her garden, especially tending to her flowers.  Ruth enjoyed playing the piano, was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan, who enjoyed following the Florida Gators and a Carolina Gamecock football fan.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with all.

Survivors include her daughter, Carla Love (Jim) Beasley of Aiken, SC; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Lafferty of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Lauren Ashley (Samuel) Grimes of Aiken, Mallory Mae (Sam) Grigsby of Aiken, and great children, Bradley Ray and Adalyn Jane Grimes.
