Funeral services for Rusty Dale Peeples, 48, of Barnwell, SC will be held at four o’clock p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2024 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend Don McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from three o’clock p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Sunday. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jason Still, Justin Still, George Zorn, David Weeks, Stanley Zorn, Quentin Chavis, Bill Bronson, Connor Edwards, Keith Thomas, Santinno Knight, Brandon Peeples and Cameron Peeples. The family has asked that memorials be made to The Bridge Center, P.O. Box 1763, Anderson, SC 29622. Rusty passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
Born in Allendale County, SC, he was a son of Ruth Abigail Lain and the late Henry Dale Peeples and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Rusty lived life to the fullest, he had a great sense of humor, was a practical jokester who was known for “picking” on his family and friends. He loved grilling and cooking with his children, family, and friends. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and farming; he learned to drive a tractor at 9 years old. Most of all he loved driving semi-trucks; he logged coast to coast for Bobby Hutson Trucking with Goofey as his co-pilot. Rusty loved swimming at Little Hell and Ray’s Crossing. He was friendly, talked with everyone, and never met a stranger. He was loved by most and was revered as a friend to many.
Survivors include his mother, Ruth Abigail Piatt (Keith Thomas); children, Madyson Keller of Waynesboro, GA, Anna Knight (Santinno) of Neeses, SC, and Cameron Allen Peeples (Taylor) of Deerfield, FL; grandchildren, Lance Keller and Lyle Sterling Knight; brothers, Brandon Dale Peeples (Christina) of Springfield, MO and James Ryan Peeples of Joplin, MO; sisters, Jessica Ann Peeples of Bellevue, WA, Christina Diane Cadwallader (Israel) of Joplin, MO, and Alana Howard of Beech Island, SC; aunts, Ruth Bronson (Bill) of Hilda, SC and Tammy Lain of Olar, SC; grandmother, Sybile B. Lain, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his father, Henry Dale Peeples, he was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jessie Russell Lain and Robert Peeples, Sr.; grandmother, Martha Peeples; uncles, Barry Lain and Robert Peeples, Jr. and an aunt, Alice Still.
