Graveside funeral service for Ruben Ellis Odom, 98, of Blackville, SC will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend David Turner officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery. Due to the current pandemic and the CDC regulations, social distancing and other guidelines will be in place. The service will be live-streamed on our Official Folk Funeral Home - Live Stream Facebook page for those unable to attend. Mr. Ruben passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
Born in Blackville, SC, he was a son of the late James Bunion Odom and Daisy Webb Odom and was married to the late Vonnie Robinson Odom for 67 years. He retired from farming, was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon, the Sunday School Director, the Brotherhood President, was a Sunday School Teacher and was a member of the Kate Odom Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his daughter Faith O. Tanner of Aiken and a number of nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his all of his siblings Alberta O. Folk, Daisy O. Still, Albert E. Odom, Zonnie Odom, J. H. Odom, James Odom and Clifton Odom.
