Ronnie Victor Smith

Services for Ronnie Victor Smith, 68, of Bamberg, SC will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Reach Out Ministries, 2353 Galilee Road, Barnwell, SC 29812 with the Reverends Don McCormick and Greg Hammet officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of the service at the church on Wednesday. Ronnie passed away at MUSC Medical Center on Friday, October 27, 2023.

Born in Detroit, MI he was a son of the late Frank Elton “Pie” Smith, Jr. and Olga Linda Torres Smith. Ronnie was raised by his grandparents who he called his Momma, Rosa J. Smith and his Daddy, Frank E. Smith, Sr. Ronnie loved to fish the Toogoodoo River and shrimp in Beaufort. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and playing fetch with his beloved chocolate lab, “CoCo” at Bobcat Landing in Bamberg, SC. He was an avid Clemson Football fan and never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him.

Survivors include his daughters, Elizabeth Dawn Smith of Williston, Tonya Irene Smith of Blackville and Teri Renee Smith of Bamberg; his sons, Ronnie Victor “Ron” Smith, Jr. of Hagerstown, MD and Steven Michael Smith of Cope and his self-adopted daughter and nurse, Miranda Dyches of Bamberg; the mother of the children, Jennifer Padgett and her husband Eddie of Bamberg;  numerous grandchildren and one great-granddaughter that he loved dearly; sisters, Peggy (Butch) Hutto of Blackville, Ellender (Henry) Gunnells, Sr., of Swansea, Debra Marie Smith of Bamberg, Lynn (Stanley) Zissett of Olar and Missy Melissa Raye of Bamberg; brothers, Tony (Ginger) Smith of Blackville, Mark Joyner of Williston and Lavern Joyner of Beaufort and a number of loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Frank “Pee Wee” Smith, James Allen Smith and Barry Dean Smith.
