Ricky Bonnette, Sr.

A Celebration of Life Service for Charles Richard “Ricky” Bonnette, Sr., Branchville, SC will be held at two o’clock p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2024 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with Dr. Thomas Terry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be given to Barnwell County Animal Shelter Foundation, P.O. Box 1009, Barnwell, SC 29812. Ricky passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024.

Born in Augusta, GA, he was a son of the late William Woodrow Bonnette and Lottie Powell Cook and was married to the late Ann Still Bonnette for 41 years. He started his career early as a lineman, later moved into welding at Riteway Machine Shop. Ricky then moved into quality assurance and ultimately worked primarily as an electrician/maintenance mechanic having worked at Chem Nuclear and Swiss Kronotex, USA. Ricky later owned his own industrial business, Edisto Industrial; he was mechanically gifted and could create build and repair pretty much anything. He was of the Baptist faith; he loved to stay busy, and he loved spending time with his best buddy, Bear and his new puppy, Rip.  He loved taking daily trips to his home on the Edisto River and taking his dogs on a daily boat ride. Bear was an Alaskan malamute hybrid; his dog of nearly 14 years that passed away a couple of months ago.

Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie (Jackie) Bonnette-Gammon of Aiken; sons, Rick (Lisa) Bonnette of Aiken, SC and Bradley (Amanda) Bonnette of Barnwell, SC; grandchildren, Ashley Bonnette, Justin Bonnette, Kendall Bonnette, Sawyer Bonnette, Andrew Gammon, Joshua Gammon, Kelsey Gammon and Justin Gammon; great grandchildren, Jamie Gammon, Layne Gammon, Milo Gammon, and Landon Gammon; a sister, Linda Greenwood of Tennessee; brothers, Bill Bonnette and David Cook of Barnwell, SC and Johnny Cook of Aiken, SC and  his beloved German Shepherd puppy, Rip.
