Reverend Thomas Shadrach Summers, Jr.

Graveside funeral services for Reverend Thomas Shadrach Summers, Jr., 81, of Williston, SC will be held at ten o’clock a.m., Friday, July 24, 2020 in the Cameron Memorial Cemetery, Cameron, SC with Elder Robert Dobson officiating. Due to the current pandemic and the CDC regulations, social distancing and other guidelines will be in place. Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to Tidewater Hospice, 10 Buckingham Plantation Dr., Suite A., Bluffton, SC 29910. Reverend Thomas S. Summers, Jr of Williston, SC passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. 

Born in Orangeburg SC on December 8,   1938, Tom was the son of the late Thomas Shadrach Summers, Sr. and Kitty Way Griffith Summers. Tom attended Palmer College for business in Charleston, SC, received his Seminary Degree from Southern Methodist in Orangeburg and attended Claflin University. He recently retired from pastoring the Blackville United Methodist Church in Blackville, SC and Williston United Methodist Church in Williston, SC.  He previously pastored churches in Cameron, Holly Hill, Sumter, Bamberg, and Ehrhardt.  Tom was an avid golfer, fisherman, and an artist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his dear devoted wife Annie Holmes Summers.
Survivors are his beloved sister and her husband of Orangeburg, Sylvia S. Boone and Louis C. Boone.  His cherished children, Thomas S. “Tom” Summers, III (Diana) from Ridgeland, Kimberly Anne S. Lupori (Scott) of Sumter, Timothy Luke Summers of Williston, and Paul Douglass Summers (Sandy) of Virginia.  His grandchildren, Kathryn Tess Fowler (Forrest), Mark Lupori, Christian Summers, Angel Rodgers, and Jeremy Tuten (Jordan).

Our father will always be known for his loving heart, his kind words, his love for Christ, his laughter, and gentle soul.  Rest in peace daddy, we love you.
