Born in Salley, SC, she was a daughter of the Mary Hallowell Chavis and the late James Chavis. Peggy was married to the late Stanley Gray for 45 years and was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. Peggy always made sure that their kids had everything that they needed; she was the backbone of her family. Holidays and family celebrations will certainly be different without Peggy as she loved hosting holidays to bring family together. Peggy loved to make new recipes for her family, she especially enjoyed making sweets. While she enjoyed shopping, Peggy was always thinking of others, she liked to put together baked goods and little gifts to give away. Her gifts were always decorated for the occasion. Peggy always went over-the-top for her four grandkids, whom she loved deeply. She spent the early mornings sitting at the kitchen table, drinking coffee or tea, and reading. She enjoyed warm days and the budding flowers of spring. Peggy's absence will have a great impact on her family. She will truly be missed by all who loved her.
