At the young age of 70, Peggy, went home to be with the lord on January 22, 2025 at 3:16 pm surrounded by family and friends. Peggy was born May 26, 1954 in Waterloo, Iowa. Peggy was one of 9 children. Peggy lived a beautiful life. She loved her family, friends and most of all God.
Some of Peggy’s favorite things were to have daily conversations with her girls. She also loved for her grandson Bradley to read her a book, Gracie girl singing to her, helping Cordell with homework and building legos and most of all sitting next to the love of her life (main man) watching westerns, listening to country music and drinking coffee. She also enjoyed doing her Bible studies and going to church every Sunday. Peggy was a member of the Gospel Time Baptist Church.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 33 years Melvin Gentry of Gaston, SC; her daughters, Teresa (Brett) of Erin, TN, Brandi (Quincy) of West Columbia, SC, Lisa of Gaston, SC and Cierria (Zach) Pelion, SC; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; several nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends from all over.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Oran and Ethel McMurray; brothers, Mike and Oscar McMurray; and sister in laws Judie McMurray and Cindy Leviner.
A Celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Gospel Time Baptist Church. 2818 Windham Drive, West Columbia, SC 29170 with the Reverend Ron Roach officiating.
