A Graveside Funeral Service for Paul Williams, 91, of Springfield, SC will be held three o’clock p.m., Sunday, June 21, 2020 in the Springfield Cemetery with the Reverend Randy Dunaway officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery on Sunday. Due to the current pandemic and the CDC regulations, social distancing and other guidelines will be in place. The service will be live-streamed on our Official Folk Funeral Home - Live Stream Facebook page for those unable to attend. Paul passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020.
Born in Barnwell County, SC, he was a son of the late Clarence Williams and Maybelle Chavis Williams. He was first married to the late Virginia Still Williams and was the widower of Mary Louise Brady Williams. He attended Blackville and Williston Church of God. In 1945, he joined the Merchant Marines and was a member of Seafarers International Union. He retired in 1992 having served during World War II, Vietnam and Desert Storm.
Survivors include his daughter Patricia W. (Randy) Dunaway of Thomson, GA; sons Robert (Dale) Williams of Evans, GA, Mike (Bobbie Jean) Williams of McCormick, Ronnie (Pam) Williams of Evans, GA, Tobey (Teresa) Williams of Augusta, GA; step-daughter Kathy Hutson and Michelle Simmons; his sister Lucille W. Chavis; a special Godchild Dillon Penley; 13 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Delores W. Gleaton, Mozelle W. Turtle, Pearl W. Brooks; brothers Govan Williams, Morris “Buck” Williams, Russell Williams, Cecil Williams, Fletcher Williams, and Obie Williams
