Paul Sandifer, Sr.

Paul Daniel Sandifer, Sr. 76 of Bamberg, SC passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel in Williston, SC with the Reverend Timmy Gunnells and Pastor Chris Sandifer officiating. The family will receive friends at the home in Bamberg during the day time and later at the home of Phyllis Sandifer 285 Lacy Street, Bamberg, SC 29003 on Thursday and Friday from five to eight p.m. On Saturday, the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home in Williston.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Bamberg Fire Department.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions by be made to Folk Funeral Home, P.O. Box 367, Williston, SC 29853.

Mrs. Phyllis and family would like to thank Agape Hospice, Nurse Susan Sandifer and caregiver Nettie Bamberg for their love and compassion that was shown to them.

Born in Orangeburg County, he was a son of the late Heyward Sandifer and Lula Mae Bunch Sandifer and was married to Phyllis Croft Sandifer for 49 years. Paul attended Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church in Barnwell.  He owned Bamberg Upholstery Shop from 1977 until his retirement and also retired from the Bamberg Fire Department as a Lieutenant after 51 years.  Paul loved his community and was a servant who loved helping others. He served on the Board for the Cheese & Cracker Box, was a former disaster chairman for the American Red Cross for Bamberg County, was chairman of the Bamberg Christmas parade for over 40 years and was a Jaycee who was named Jaycee of the year.  He will be missed within the community and by those whom loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Croft Sandifer of the home; sons, Chris (Susan) Sandifer of Barnwell, SC, Kevin (Jaci) Sandifer of Bamberg, SC and Brad Sandifer of Ridgeland, SC; sister, Mary (Ray) Hayes of Bamberg, SC; a sister-in-love, Claudia Sandifer of Bamberg, SC; grandchildren, Nick, Katy, Abigail, Brantley, Phoneix, J. T., Jena Kimberly (Denzel), Gunner, Jarrett, Ella and Ryder; great grandchildren, Teagan, Jordyn, Tori, Bellamy, Jayce, Zayne, and Greyson; brothers and sisters-in-law, O’Neal (Sharon) Croft, Wayne (Beth) Croft, Darrell (Mary) Croft, Eileen (Andy) Gunnells, Cindy (Johnny) Williams and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dan Sandifer; sisters, Louise Price, Shirley Cook, Dorothy Martin; brothers, Buddy Sandifer, Johnny Sandifer; sister and brother-in-law. Lib (Carl) Gunnells and a special nephew, Taylor.
