A Celebration of Life Service for RET. SGM. Michael Douglas Redmon, 53, of Williston, SC will be held at four o’clock p.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel with full military honors accorded; Eddie Mote will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. The service will be Live-Streamed on our Official Folk Funeral Home - Live Stream Facebook page. Michael passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021.
Born in Front Royal, VA, he was a son of Rubie Lee Jenkins Redmon and the late Irvin William Redmon. He was retired from the U. S. Army and had a passion for taking care of soldiers. He served in Operation Just Cause in Panama, served three tours in Iraq, one in Kosovo, two in Korea, and received a Bronze Star, a Combat Infantry Badge and a Meritorious Service Medal. Michael enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife Dawn Leigh Robcke Redmon of the home; his children Aaron (Daphne) Foster of Venus, TX, Justin Salmeron of Wake Forrest, NC, Kristian (Alaina) Redmon of Surprise, AZ, Nikole (Brey) Cooper of Raleigh, NC, Meri (James) Plotz of West End, NC, Michael Redmon of Raeford, NC, and Matthew Redmon of Rosepine, LA, step-children Jack (Anna) Kelly of Wahiawa, HI and Amber Kelly of Augusta, GA; 15 grandchildren and two on-the-way; three sisters Brenda Garriott of Albemarle, NC, Teri (Sam) Shafer Richardsville, VA and Myra (Jimmy) Bower of Nokesville, VA; his brothers John (Beth) Redmon of Luray, VA, and Bill (Karen) Redmon of Warrenton, VA; a brother-in-law Larry (Patty) Robcke of Putnam Valley, NY; his mother-in-law Nancy M. King of Hudson Valley NY, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother Dennis Redmon, his father-in-law Ernie Robcke, and a brother-in-law Michael Garriott.
