Michael “Mike” Terry Hollingsworth, 72, of Blackville, South Carolina passed away November 29, 2025 at his home. He was born on November 21, 1953 to the late Mary Katherine and Clifford William Hollingsworth, Jr. of Barnwell, South Carolina. Mike graduated from Barnwell High School in 1972 and later graduated from Clemson University with a BS in Political Science. Mike was a lifelong supporter of the Barnwell Warhorses and the Clemson Tigers. He spent many years employed by Savannah River Site and later retired from South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. A passionate farmer, Mike found joy and purpose in working the fields, tending the family farm, and carrying on the agricultural traditions of his family. Farming wasn’t just a hobby for him, it grounded him and brought him peace. Additionally, Mike devoted 31 years of service to the board of directors for the Edisto Electric Cooperative.
Mike is survived by his wife of 12 years, Rose Conn Hollingsworth; his daughters Lauren Roberts (Matt) and Jessa Hollingsworth (Ken Everett) and stepchildren Stephanie Bass (David Summers), Mickey Bass, and Leslie Talbot (Travis); his grandchildren Ethan Roberts, Nolan Roberts, Ellie Roberts, Owen Roberts, and Kailey Jones; brother, Cliff Hollingsworth; and his beloved dogs Charlie and Ruby. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Alyssa Hollingsworth. He will be remembered fondly for his quick wit, intellect, and easy-going nature. His legacy lives on through his loving family.
Funeral services will be held at Folk Funeral Home in Williston, South Carolina at 1 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday in Williston.
