Melvyn Boylston

Melvyn Newman Boylston, 88, of Aiken, SC passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from twelve o’clock noon to two p.m., on Saturday, January 24, 2026 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC. Memorial contributions may be sent in Melvyn’s memory to the Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607. Also United Energy Workers, Nurses Rene, David, Rhonda and Rich for there help during our fathers illness, May God bless each one of you.

Born in Williston, SC, he was a son of the late Benson William Boylston, Sr. and Ruth Newman Boylston and was married to the late Marie Grady Boylston for 57 years. He retired from Savannah River Site as a lab technician having worked for 38 years. He was a member of River of Life in Aiken, SC where he attended and sometimes led the River of Life Weekly Prayer Group for a number of years. He homeschooled children and along with his wife managed the grade school at New Covenant Praise Church in Aiken; he also taught seventh grade. Melvyn enjoyed camping, old cars and remodeling houses. He and his wife were foster parents to many children.

Survivors include his daughter, Melba Thompson of Aiken, SC; a son and daughter-in-law, Micah and Melody Boylston of Trenton, SC; grandchildren, Jeffrey Iler, Jr. of Aiken, SC, Austin (Svea) Baker of Beech Island, SC and Jenny Boylston (Ben) VonKeller of Irmo, SC; a sister, Mary Frances Boyleston (Steve Lawson) of Elko, SC, a brother, Benson William (B.W.) Boyleston, Jr. of Williston and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Rachel Baker and brothers, Wayne McArthur Boyleston and Charles Benson Boyleston.
