Melvin Levone (Pop) McCutcheon, Sr.

Melvin Levone “Pop” McCutcheon, Sr., 76 of Barnwell, SC passed away at home on Monday, March 3, 2025. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC. A Memorial Service will be held at two o’clock p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Rosemary Baptist Church with the Reverend Dan Fogle officiating.

Born in Florence, SC, he was a son of the late Frank James McCutcheon and Mary Elizabeth Springs McCutcheon. He was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church and previously worked as a Foreman for Davey Tree Company. Pop loved to fish, he especially enjoyed fishing with his boys. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and cutting grass and he loved his church family.

Survivors include his wife, Dale Nona Stephens McCutcheon; his sons, Melvin L. McCutcheon, Jr. of Williston, SC, Bubba (Fran) Davis of Williston, SC and Marshall McCutcheon of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Katie Griggs, Sara (Chandler) Hutson, Bridget McCutcheon, Richard Davis, Candace Davis, Brittany Davis, Brittany McCutcheon, Preston McCutcheon, Rex McLain, Samantha McLain, Danielle Poston and Dustin Avant; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Holden and Sarah (Clayton) Nettles all of Florence, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy Ann Davis and Patty Helen Davis; three brothers, Elwood McCutcheon, Dallas McCutcheon and Frank James McCutcheon, Jr.; grandsons, Trevor Davis and Jamie McCutcheon and a great grandson, Walker Davis.
