McArthur "Judge" Owens

A visitation for McArthur “Judge” "Uncle Mac" Owens, 82, of Williston, SC will be held from four to six o’clock p.m., Friday, November 8, 2024 at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC. McArthur passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

Born in Old Ellenton, SC, he a son of the late William Owens, Sr. and Lucille Morris Owens. He previously worked as a painter and roofer having worked for Joe Bates, Owens Painting and Harold Beasley. He worked at Brooker Hardware, as a Guard at Augusta Fiberglass and also worked in pulpwood. He loved to raise any type of animal; he raised hogs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, peacocks, quail and Cody the Bull. He also loved to fish.

Survivors include his companion, friend, and care-giver, Dorothy “Dot” Still; a brother, James (Juanita) Owens of Blackville, SC; half-sisters, Bobbie Robinson of Barnwell, SC and Minnie Burckhardt of Charleston, SC; step-daughters, Debbie Harmon of Blackville, SC and Ann Owens of Sleytown, SC; a special childhood friend, Sport Holland, also friends, Ervin Ezzell and Wayne Kennedy along with a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Amedysis Hospice Nurse Monica, Ciera, Betsy, Marie and a special thank you to Joanne Blocker for all of the love, care, and attention that they have shown Judge during the time they cared for him.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Carroll and Erma Sweat and his brother, William, Owens, Jr.
