Maxie (Johnson) Barbieri

Funeral Services for Maxie Johnson Barbieri, 84, of Orangeburg, SC will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2024 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend Joseph Sanders officiating; burial will follow in the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Williston Cemetery, P.O. Box 367, Williston, SC 29853. Mrs. Maxie passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

Born in Elko, SC, she was a daughter of the late Manuel F. Johnson and Bertha Mae Carroll Johnson Burckhalter and was married to John Joseph Barbieri, Sr. She was a homemaker.

Survivor include her loving husband, John Barbieri, Sr. of 67 years; sons, John Joseph Barbieri, Jr. of Towson, MD, Steven Floyd (Janice) Barbieri of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and George Allen (Julia) Barbieri of Bamberg, SC; grandchildren, John Joseph Barbieri, III, Diane Lee Barbieri (Zachary) Dixon, Gracie Barbieri, and Ashley Axson (Jason Drew); great grandchildren, Shepherd, Tucker, Vivian Dixon and Danyele and Bryan Axson; brothers-in-law, Pete Grady of Williston, SC and Robert (Donna) Barbieri of St. Louis, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Grady.
