Matthew Charles Poore

Matthew Charles Poore Sr., 65, of Windsor, SC passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.  No formal services will be held at this time. Burial will be held at a later date with military honors in the National Cemetery, Black Mountain, NC. Memorial contributions may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Rd Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Born in Jacksonville, FL, he was a son of the late George William Poore and Patricia Schmitt Poore. and is married to Ann Marie Poore. Matthew retired as a Command Sargent Major from the US Army having served 24 years. He was self-employed, having owned a consulting and training firm in Concord, NC. He attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Aiken, SC.

Survivors include daughters, Catherine Edwards of Asheville, NC, Theresa (Kenneth) Parker of Concord, NC, and Christina (Matthew) Bandieramonte of Huntersville, NC; a son, Matthew Charles (Lynnea) Poore Jr. of Chesapeake, VA;  sisters, Christina Poore of Rhode Island, Patricia Murphy and Mary Beth Poore both of Mount Airy, MD; brothers, James David (Kimberly) Poore of MD, Michael Joseph Poore of CT; eleven grandchildren;a friend Sonia Solorzano and a number of nieces and nephews.

Matthew was preceded in death by his brothers, Stephen John Poore and Anthony Wayne Poore.
