Mason Mateo Martinez

A Celebration of Life service for Mason Mateo Martinez, 18, of Blackstock, SC will be held at 1 p.m.  Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Ember Church, Chester, SC with the Reverend Kevin Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday at Ember Church. Mason passed away at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC on Thursday, October 31, 2024.

Mason was born in Aiken, SC and was a son of Manuel (Antoinette) Martinez, III, of Blackstock, SC and Melissa Martinez (Jason Hamilton) of Sahuarita, AZ.  He worked at Little Cesars as shift lead and was a very respectful and generous young man that never met a stranger and could have a conversation with anyone he met. Mason loved the mountains and being outdoors. He was an adrenaline junkie and looked forward to any adventure he could take.  Mason was a member of Ember Church; he loved listening to music and was a animal lover leaving behind Bruno, Lily and Lola.

Survivors include his parents; his siblings, Andrue Deffenbaugh, Skyla (Antonio) Kimble, Bianca Urioste, Jayden Washington, Cayden Washington, Ethan Hamilton, Bryson Martinez, SáNovia Martinez and Boris Dyches; grandparents, Levi Tedder, Diane Tedder, Manuel Martinez, II, Mike and Jodell Urioste, Steve and Bernadette Atencio; a dear aunt Linda Scroggs and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Henrietta Martinez, Glenn and Debra Reagan, Sr.; uncles, Glenn Reagan, Jr. and Reverend Bob Scroggs and a aunt, Barbara Tedder Pace.
