Obituary

Mary E.W. Fernau, 70, of Ladson, SC, died Tuesday, May 17, 2022. She was born November 17, 1951 in Charleston, SC, daughter of the late George C L Sr. and Mary Ladd Fernau. Mary retired having taught school in Berkeley County School District and was a member of St. Michael’s Anglican Church. She had a lifelong love for her many dogs and took great joy in sharing Mickey Mouse and Disney World with her niece.

She is survived by her brother John J C Fernau, III and his wife Wendy, niece Emma Fernau Collins and her husband Maclean, and grandnieces Eden and Vivienne Collins.

She was preceded in death by her brother George C L Fernau, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to a Graveside funeral service at 2:00 o’clock pm Monday, May 23, 2022 in the Blackville Cemetery, Hampton Ave. Blackville, SC 29817, with the Reverend Tim Surratt officiating. Memorial contributions in memory of Mary may be made to the Dorchester Paws Animal Shelter, 136 4Paws Lane, Summerville, SC 29483.
