Marion “Leroy” Carrigg, 81, of Barnwell, SC passed away April 8, 2023, at his home. Born on February 22, 1942, in Denmark, SC, he was the son of Effie Clifton Carrigg and Rose Ella Hoover Carrigg.
No formal services will be held at this time.
His passion was racing. He raced everything from Nascar to lawnmowers. He built a concrete racetrack in his back yard so he could enjoy racing the remote-controlled cars.
He was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church in Williston SC.He was predeceased by his parents, and siblings; baby sister, Wallace Carrigg, Letha Carrigg, Elvin Carrigg, Gracie Carrigg Gunnells, David Carrigg, Reuben Carrigg, Lillian Carrigg Lindsey, Leon Carrigg, and Von Carrigg.
He is survived by his wife Vivian Carrigg; Children Michael Carrigg of TN, Evelyn Brown (Ken) of PA, Eddie Carrigg (Suzanne) of OH, David (Christi) Carrigg of Callahan, FL, Tommy Carrigg of AZ, Tony Carrigg (Staci) of Jacksonville FL. Stepchildren Joy Rudbach of Jacksonville FL and Lewis Jowers of Cross Anchor SC. Sisters Pat Evans of Williston, and Brenda Bell of Round Rock TX. Sister in Laws Patsy Carrigg of Jacksonville Fl, Easter Carrigg Perkins of Middleburg FL, and Lynn Carrigg of Bamberg SC.
