Memorial Service for Margaret Lynne Headlee Curtis will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, October 26 at Folk Funeral Home Chapel in Williston, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Margaret passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
Born in Warren, Ohio on November 2, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Donald Robert Headlee and Edith Maxine Showalter Headlee. She graduated in 1960 from Cortland High School in Cortland, OH, and Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Warren, OH. She was a nurse at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, and plant nurse for Copperweld Steel. After moving to Aiken, South Carolina, she found a love for psychiatric nursing and retired from Aiken Regional Medical Center - Aurora Pavilion. She was a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church in Aiken. Margaret was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed watching baseball and football. The Cleveland Guardians, The Ohio State Buckeyes and The Cleveland Browns were her favorite teams.
Survivors include her daughter, Marjorie Denise (Roger) Love of Barnwell, SC; sons Charles “Curt” Patrick (Kristina) Curtis, Jr. of Belmont, NC; Craig Thomas (Susan) Curtis of Windermere, FL; Christopher Paul Curtis of Clermont, FL, and Sean Patrick (Brenda) Curtis of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren Kristin (Ashley) Oswald of Springfield, SC; Benjamin (Jackie) Black of Douglasville, GA; Diana Scott of Madison, WI; Britany (John) Jones of Denver, NC; Haley Riggins of Belmont, NC; Travis (Nina) Outlaw and Keegan Curtis, both of Pensacola, FL; Chad (Elicia) Outlaw of Phoenix, AZ; Alex Curtis and Ava Curtis of Windemere, FL; Brandi (Daniel) Dulyea of Windsor, SC; and Roger (Bobbie Jean) Love, Jr. of Aiken, SC. 14 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Martha Khoenle of FL; a very special friend Beverly Janson of Knoxville, TN; and an extensive family of beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband Charles Curtis, Sr, her sister and brother-in-law Mary & Vern Corley, sister Elizabeth “Betty” Headlee, granddaughter Shawna Outlaw, and great-grandsons Noah Stanley and Gray Love.
The family would like to thank the staff at Barnwell Family Medicine, and nurse Ciera Smith from Amedisys Hospice for their care and compassion during her final days.
