With assurance in her savior Jesus Christ, on January 10, 2025, Mrs. Lois June (Wessinger) Fulmer, age 87, having persevered in her faith to the end, entered the eternal kingdom of her Lord.
Mrs. Fulmer was the oldest child of Mr. Ambra Wilson Wessinger and Mrs. Bertie Burgess Wessinger of New Holland, SC. She made her profession of faith at New Holland Baptist Church. She proudly taught first grade in Aiken County for 33 years after graduating from Winthrop University. She was married in 1974 to her beloved husband Dwight Davis Fulmer. Together they raised their son, Jason Dwight Fulmer, in the First Baptist Church of Springfield, where she faithfully served her Lord, family, and the congregation for 47 years.
It was her joy to see her son marry and become a grandmother to Jessilynn. As well as welcoming her namesake Margeret June. She spent the latter years of her life as a resident of Lexington County, and member of Rivercrest Presbyterian Church, to be an active and supportive part of her grandchildren’s lives.
Mrs. Fulmer was a member of Kappa Delta Pi (an honor society for Educators), and a long-time performer with the Edisto Singers. She spent countless hours nurturing her flowers and yard, baking her pound cakes for every special occasion, and making her home a beautiful and welcoming place for all.
Mrs. Fulmer is now reunited with her beloved husband, parents, and brother Ambra “Buddy” Wilson Wessinger, Jr. husband of Mrs. Linda Wessinger, and longtime friends Janette Cooper and Joice Bolin.
Mrs. Fulmer is mourned by her son Jason and his wife Jennifer, and her grandchildren Jessi and Maggie, her treasured aunt and best friend Hazel Pardue, her stepson Q.D. Fulmer and wife Patty, and step daughter Salette and husband Danny, the extended Wessinger and Fulmer families and the congregations of First Baptist Springfield, and Rivercrest Presbyterian Church, PCA.
Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Saturday, January 18 at the First Baptist Church of Springfield with the Reverends Adam Williams and John Yorio officiating; burial will follow in the Springfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Rivercrest Presbyterian Church, PCA, 4766 Sunset Blvd., Lexington, SC 29072.
