Linda Gail (Still) Towne

Linda Gail Still Towne, 73, of Barnwell, SC passed away at home peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 29, 2025. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC. Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Folk Funeral Home with the Reverends Joe Wilburn and Ted Still officiating. Burial will follow at the Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Jeremy Creech officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Brice Smith, Houston Towne, Jared Towne, Jeremy Wall, Kevin Wall, Justin Wall, Jade Collins and Stanley Zissett.

The family of Linda Towne would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Remain at Home, Amedisys Hospice Nurses and Staff, Gladys Walker, Savannah Handberry, Joyce Gunnells, Ashton Morris, Alyson Stevens, and Cierra Smith for all of the love care and concern that they have shown Linda over these last few months.

Born in Barnwell County, SC she was a daughter of the late Reverend Perry Alfred Still and Laverna Mae Still. She was a devoted member of Ashleigh Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and helped in the nursery for many years. She loved her church and spending time reading her Bible. She loved every minute that she got to spend with her family and loved her grandbabies beyond measure. She retired in operations after 38 years at Savannah River Site. She also enjoyed making red velvet cakes and sharing them with her family and friends.

Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Thomas Hayne Towne; a daughter, Lynn Towne (Stephen) Burn; a son, Darren (Jacquelyn) Towne all of Barnwell, SC; sisters, Shirley (Butch) Widener of Blackville, SC and Lavonne Wall Gatlin of Florence, AL; a brother, Billy (Anne) Still of Ehrhardt, SC; grandchildren, Brice, Houston (Bethany), Jared, Lily Kate, Luke, Stephen, Hayley, Anna Grace, Brogan, Anthony “Hamp” Grubbs; great-grandchildren, Graylyn, Brexley, Collyns, Jonah, Aubrey, Tripp and Brant; sisters-in-law, Analiza (Ricky) Williams, Susie (Billy) Dyches, Missi (J.J.) Cruz; Cynthia Towne and a brother-in-law, John McClary.

She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Judy McClary; brothers-in-law, William Towne and Tony Towne.
