Lewis Jehu Birt

Lewis Jehu Birt, 84, of Williston, SC passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 13, 2025. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2025 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Pastor Bud Judy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Born in Barnwell County, SC, he was a son of the late Ashley Birt and Iris Grubbs Birt. He retired as a truck driver having worked many years for Material Supply Company. He loved farming, was a great mechanic and enjoyed driving trucks and tractors.

Survivors include his loving wife, Violet Yonce Birt of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Sharon Birt of Williston; a sister, Gloria (Ken) Yonce of Williston, SC; grandchildren, Elizabeth Birt, Deena (Ricky) Gooding, and Daniel Birt; great grandchildren Dylan Birt, Hannah Birt, Juliana (Justin) Noeller, Savannah Gooding, Taylor Gooding, and Natalie Birt; great, great grandchildren, Kyler Noeller and Karter Noeller and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Nan and her husband, Johnny Bates; sister, Wilma Hartzog; a brother, Johnny and his wife, Vivian and brother, Bobby and his wife, Bonnie.
