Leslie (Gill) Hart

Funeral services for Leslie Gill “Nonnie” Hart, 84, of Denmark, SC will be held at two o’clock p.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Bethel Park United Methodist Church with burial in the Denmark Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Red Cross, 2434-A City Hall Ln., North Charleston, SC 29406 or Bethel Park United Methodist Church, 25 Beech St., Denmark, SC 29042.  The family would like to thank Grove Park Hospice and her caretakers: Tracy Denby, Casey Jackson, Kerri King, and Dorothy Tyler for all of the love, compassion, care and concern that they have shown Leslie.  She passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

Born in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Leroy Gill and Ruth Padgett Gill. She was a member of the Bethel Park United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer, was a member of the United Methodist Women, and enjoyed playing in the church hand bell choir for many years. She served on the Bereavement Committee and held various positions through her many years at Bethel Park. She was a Columbia College graduate and previously worked as a bookkeeper and receptionist for Dr. Thomas and Crum & Crum Attorneys. She was an avid bridge player and loved playing bridge with her friends. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and made each grandchild their very own personalized scrapbook. She was the glue that held her family together and she loved each one of her family members dearly. Leslie was a simple lady that did a lot of good for a lot of people and didn’t expect anything in return. She is going to be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, LeRoy Edwards “Pop” Hart, Jr. of the home; a daughter, Gill Hart Hackney; son, Lee (Debbie) Hart; grandchildren, Leslie Ann Hackney, Neeley Ann Hackney (fiancé Shane Hanks), William Cody Hart, Chad (Allison) Gleaton, and Kelly (Nick) Guzman and four great grandchildren.
