Graveside funeral services for Laverne Fralix Fox McCarty, 86, of Bateburg, SC will be held 11 am Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Live Oak Cemetery, Jefferies Blvd., Walterboro, SC with the Reverend Dan Fogle officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 pm Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC. Laverne passed away Monday June 24, 2019.
Born in Islandton, SC she was a daughter of the late Ethel Mary Connelly and Rufus Fralix. She retired from Hughes Aircraft in Orangeburg, SC and was first married to the late Jesse Marshall Fox, Sr.
Survivors include her husband Floyd I. McCarty of the home; sons Jesse Marshall (Kathy) Fox, Jr. of Middleburg, Florida, Dean Fox of Orangeburg, SC; daughters Margaret Hughes of Orangeburg, SC, Helen Hasty of Springfield, SC, Sylvia (Frank) Thompson of Graniteville, SC, Christine Lucas of Augusta, Ga.; sister Betty Penfield of Wedgefield, SC; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Eugene Aaron McCarty and a sister Martha Cleland.
