Laurie Laird

Funeral services for Laurie Wallace Laird, 86, of Elko, SC will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with the Reverend Russell Reed officiating; burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memory Gardens on Reynolds Rd. The family will receive friends from five to seven p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Laurie passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020.

Born in Barnwell County, SC he was a son of the late Jimmie Laird and Lillian Kinard Laird. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and retired from Milliken as a mechanic after many years of service. He was a family man who loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters. He was a strong, hard worker; he enjoyed gardening and flowers. He also loved to fish and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds. He was thoughtful of others and was always concerned about their well-being.

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years Lillie Jamison Laird of the home; his daughters Ginger (Greg) Williams of Barnwell and Stacey (Greg) Respass of Elko; grandchildren Savannah (Adam) Hartzog, Skyler Williams, and Meg, Madelyn and Macey Respass; his sisters Dot Bolen Dukes of Elko and Marie (Robert) Wade of Cottontown, TN; his brothers Harry (Etta) Laird of Gallatin, TN, Charles (Carolyn) Laird of Walhalla, SC, Delano (Lea) Laird of Hendersonville, TN, Frankie Laird of St. Cloud, FL, and Donnie (Linda) Laird of Bamberg, SC; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
