Lauretta R (Sisson) Amentler

A Celebration of Life Service for Lauretta Ruth Amentler 85, of Williston, SC will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the home of her son John, with the Reverend Dexter Lambert officiating.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Memorial and Honors Program St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105. Lauretta was called to ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­heaven on Sunday, September 24, 2023.

Born in Falls Church, VA, she was a daughter of the late Harvey Sission and Ruth Donato Sission and was married to the late George Francis Amentler for 48 years.  She was of the Seventh Day Adventist Faith.  Lauretta retired from St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY as a registered nurse; she enjoyed crocheting and feeding the birds.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. 

Survivors include her daughter Diane Compasso of Williston, SC; son John and his wife Cindy Amentler of Williston, SC; sister Donna Burk of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren Jason Amentler (Ali), Devin Compasso, Tyler and his wife Kaite Amentler, Jesse Amentler and Tanna Amentler; great grandchildren Domenic, Zolie, Mavrick and Lainey J. Lauretta; brother-in-law Frank Amentler and his wife Wanda along with a number of nieces and nephews Mateo and Jamie plus 4.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Davis Sisson and “Uncle Puddy.”

Lauretta always had a big heart for more.
