Laura (Owens) Horner

Funeral services for Laura Mae Owens Horner, 80, of Barnwell, SC will be held at three o’clock p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2020 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend Rick Powell officiating; burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery by the airport. The family will receive friends from six to eight p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Laura passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2020.

Born in Barnwell, SC she was a daughter of the late Fred Owens, Sr. and Ollie Briggs Owens. She retired as manager at Wal-Mart, Barnwell, SC. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose loved ones will miss her deeply. Laura loved to plant and tend to her flowers.

Survivors include her daughters Glenda R. Fail, Teresa R. Carter, both of Barnwell, Pamela Horner of Aiken; a son Anthony Wayne “Tony” Roberts of Barnwell; grandchildren Stacy (Keith) Wood, Crystal Bonner, Tony Wayne Roberts, Summer Owens; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Betty Hoover of Blackville; brother Lewis Owens of Barnwell; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a great grandson William Nicholas Wood; sisters Lois Gray, Sarah Wood; brothers Franklin Owens Fred Owens, Cecil Owens and Charles Owens.
