Funeral services for Kurt Neil Bearden, 67, of Barnwell, SC will be held at 3 o’clock p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with Reverend Robert Altman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Pick of the Litter, 28 McDonough St., Barnwell, SC 29812 in honor of his beloved Great Pyrenees, Zeus. Kurt passed away at home on Friday, April 28, 2023.

Born in Carrollton, GA, he was a son of the late Claude Jackson Bearden and Shirley Duffey Bearden Davis. He was married to Kimberly Schumpert Bearden. Kurt previously worked as a welding inspector and maintenance supervisor at Savannah River Site and later owned and operated Bear Den Equipment. He was member of the Barnwell Church of Christ. Kurt could fix almost anything he put his hands on and was known as the family “Supervisor” that made sure things were done to his specifications.  He was a prankster that kept his family laughing. But most importantly, he was a big man with a big heart that loved his family and friends. He loved spending time at the lake and with his family and enjoyed the cookouts when everyone could all be together. He was very proud of his big family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Kim Bearden; his four sons, Kurt Neil Bearden, Jr. of Williston, Ryan (Brittany) Bearden of Ridge Spring, Nicholas Bearden and his fiancé Angel Keisler of Barnwell and Jake Bearden (Julianne Bryant) of Barnwell; grandchildren, Luke Bearden, Tucker Bearden, Gavin Hamilton, Tybee Hamilton, and Natalie Hutto; brothers, Keith (Karen) Bearden, Kent Bearden (Jimmy Jacobson), Kevin Bearden (Cathy Woods) and Kerek (Robin) Bearden; mother-in-law, Mary Frances Boylston (Steve Lawson); brothers-in-law, Dale (Marty) Schumpert and John Schumpert; his nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Chad) Mead, Sabrina Bearden, Kyle Bearden, Brianna Bearden (Remington Davidson), Casey (Tiffany) Bearden, Hunter (Amy) Bearden, Nathan (Rubi) Bearden, Alexandria (Nic) Morris, Noah (Madison) Bearden, Caleb (Ansley) Bearden, Jenny (Jered) Chandler, Alexa Chandler and Braxton Chandler; numerous great nieces and nephews, and special family friend, Stephen Kinard.
