A Celebration of Life Service for Kenneth Allen “Ken” Widener, 50, of Blackville, SC will be held at two o’clock p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2021 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend Dan Fogle officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Ken passed away at home on Friday, November 26, 2021 after a brief illness.
Born in Augusta, GA, he was a son of Richard Lamar “Butch” Widener, Sr. and Rosalyn Weimorts Stone. Ken was a graduate of Blackville-Hilda High School and was on the football team that won the state championship in 1988. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and electrician for Casey Industrial LLC in Colorado. Ken was of the Baptist faith and was baptized at Rosemary Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, playing golf and being outdoors and was an avid Clemson Tigers Football fan. He enjoyed cooking for his friends and family and especially enjoyed eating and cooking chicken wings.
Survivors include his parents Butch and Shirley Widener, Sr. of Blackville and Rosalyn Stone of Warrenville; his Fiancé, Christine “Kris” Morris of the home; his son, Aaron Widener of Williston; step-children, Austin (Sierra) Morris, Garrison Morris (Megan), Landrea Morris and Ashton (Hunter) Bragg; his grandchildren, Dretynn, Kihyan, Tesla and Ivy; a brother, Richard L. “Dickie” (Wendy) Widener of Blackville; uncle, David A. (Phebe) Widener; aunts, Ann Sutton and Iris (Harry) Samples; his nephews, Brandon, Tristan, and Spencer Widener; a special cousin Cindy Weimorts Greene and numerous other cousins and family members.
