Kathy DeLaine Hutto

Kathy DeLaine Hutto, 72, of Springfield, SC passed away on February 6, 2024 at the Lexington Medical Center.  A Memorial Service will be held two o'clock p.m. on Saturday, March 2nd 2024 at Dean Swamp Baptist Church with a celebration of Kathy's life with family and friends immediately following in the church fellowship hall. 

Born in Orangeburg, SC, she was a daughter of Lester J. (Ted) Hutto and Diane Pender Hutto Temples.  She was a member of Dean Swamp Baptist Church and retired as the office manager for Carolina Construction Specialist having worked for more than 20 years. Kathy enjoyed cooking and loved flowers; she was a member of the American Camellia Society. She was also very fond of animals and had rescued many animals in her lifetime.

Survivors include her son, Edward Vincent “Vince” Reed of Springfield, SC; a sister, Roxane (Kurt) Richardson of Lexington, SC; uncle, Meredith “Strut” (Helen) Pender of Barnwell; step-siblings, Jeff Temples (Traci) of Ninety-Six, Billy Temples of Newberry, Cindi Crowder of Ninety-Six; nieces and nephews and her beloved doodle, “Fitz”.

Memorial contributions may be given to Animal Advocates, P.O. Box 1924, Barnwell, SC 29812 or the charity of one’s choice.
