Karen Jones Wilson

A Celebration of Life service for Karen Jones Wilson, 59, of Govan, SC will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Georges Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Ted Still officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church sanctuary. Karen passed away at home on Friday, August 8, 2025.

Born in Orangeburg, SC she was a daughter of the late Clarence Everett Jones, Sr. and Julia Margaret Gunnells Jones. Karen was a faithful member of Georges Creek Baptist Church where she loved singing and being around her church family. She enjoyed listening to live music, watching the Clemson Tigers play football and also enjoyed being outdoors spending time at the beach and the river.

Survivors include her children, Beth Wilson of Fort Mill, SC and Richie (Brittany) Wilson of Aiken, SC; her Granddaughter Karmyn Wilson; a sister, Chyrel Young of Charleston, SC and two brothers, Clarence “Buddy” Jones, Jr. and Charles Jones of Govan.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her nephew Wes Young.
