Born in Hilda, SC, she was a daughter of the late William Thomas Towne, Jr. and Martha Rowell Towne. She attended Blackville-Hilda Schools and worked in Transportation at SRS for 45 years. Judy was a member of the Hilda Southern Methodist Church, the El Bab Ladies Auxiliary and the Daughters of the Nile.  She was an avid church softball player in her younger years and enjoyed cutting grass and working in her yards as well as making sure her house was always spotless.
