Mr. Joseph Earl Richardson, 80, of Williston, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at his home.
Born on March 18, 1946, Mr. Richardson was the son of the late Willie and Virlee Bolen Richardson. He was a devoted member of the Williston Church of God.
Mr. Richardson dedicated over 50 years of his life as a heavy equipment operator before retiring. He was known for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and deep love for his family. He was a faithful and active member of his church, Williston Church of God, where he found great joy in worship and fellowship. He enjoyed nascar racing and watching westerns with his family
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Elaine Richardson of the home; his children, Jodi (Wendell) Bruner of Williston, Dawn (Eric) Stoewhaas of Gilbert, Deidra (Douglas) Livingston of Gilbert, Carl Richardson of Williston, Robert (Dorothy) Collins of Pelion, and Christopher Salas of Lexington. He is also survived by his sisters, Florence Still and Nancy Richardson, both of Blackville; his brothers, Larry Richardson of Williston, Danny Richardson of Elko, and Paul Richardson; sister-in-law Jackie Bruce; grandchildren, Natalee Bruner, Brittney Melton, Tiffany (Dusty) Boswell, Shellie Tarlton, Brent Livingston, Robert Collins III, James Mobley V., Mackenzie Mobley, Alexis Collins and Alyssa Stoewhaas; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Richardson, and his son, Willie Earl Richardson II; grandparents, Tracey and Ester Bolen and Matthew Bolen and Edna Bates and a grandchild, Christopher Salas.
Funeral services will be held at five o’clock p.m., Monday, May 4, 2026, at Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend Wendell Bruner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday in Williston. Burial will follow at the Williston Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williston Church of God Building Fund P.O. Box 147, Williston, SC 29853.
