Joseph Allen Hutson, 74, of Blackville, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, with his loving daughters by his side. No formal arrangement are planned.
Born in Blackville, SC, Joseph was the son of the late ONeal Hutson and Lizzie Williams Hutson. A lifelong resident of the Blackville area, he was known as a hardworking man who believed in providing for his family through honest labor. He worked for many years as a drywall finisher and was also a dedicated farmer. Joseph took pride in the work of his hands and never shied away from a day's work.
Above all, Joseph was a Christian whose faith helped guide his life. He enjoyed farming, spending time outdoors, and treasured the time he shared with his family.
Survivors include his daughters; Amy Lynn of Seymour, TN, and Amanda (Allen) Castleberry of Whigham, GA. He also leaves behind grandchildren; Bryson Lynn, Ellis Lynn, Preston (Su) Lovely, Brent Lovely and A.J. Castleberry; and four great-grandchildren: Jasper Lovely, Elizabeth Lovely, Adalynn Lovely and Bella Lovely, sisters; Shirley (Don) Prevatt of Thomasville, GA, Lucy Blackwell of Tampa, FL, and Teresa "Jerry" Lewis of Lehigh Acres, FL; a brother; Everett (Margaret) Hutson of Barnwell, SC; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter; Shelby Lovely, and his brother-in-law, Hal Blackwell.
Though he will be deeply missed, Joseph will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his quiet strength, his love of farming, and the devotion he showed to his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
