John Roberts “Sonny” Sightler, 72, of Gaston passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022. No formal services will be held at this time.
Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Lemuel Sightler and Gladys Dowd Sightler. He was a member of Christian Fellowship in Gaston and worked for 52 years in the Engineering Department for Owen Steel Company, Inc.
Survivors include his sister Laura S. (Kenneth) Woods of Norway and a brother Wade (Brenda) Sightler of Wagener; nieces Sandy (Pete) Gunter, Nancy (Gerald) Brown, Melynda Sightler and her fiancé Mike.
