John Joseph Barbieri, Sr.

Funeral services for John Joseph Barbieri, Sr., 91 of Orangeburg, SC will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2025 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend Joseph Sanders officiating; burial will follow in the Williston Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be John Barbieri III, Paul Dobson, Daniel Gainey, Jeep Gainey and Frank Grady. Memorial contributions may be given to the Williston Cemetery, P.O. Box 367, Williston, SC 29853. John passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

Born in Vineland, NJ, he was a son of the late John B. Barbieri and Agatha Sophia Van Steyn Barbieri and was married to the late Maxie Johnson Barbieri for 67 years. Before moving to SC, the family operated a Flower Farm in Vineland, NJ and after moving to SC he owned and operated Edisto Aircraft as an aircraft maintenance technician, and received the Aviation Maintenance Technician of the year for the state of South Carolina and also the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award from the FAA.

Survivors include his sons, John Joseph Barbieri, Jr. of Towson, MD, Steven Floyd (Janice) Barbieri of Mt. Pleasant, SC and George Allen (Julia) Barbieri of Bamberg, SC; grandchildren, John Joseph Barbieri, III, Diane Lee Barbieri (Zachary) Dixon, Gracie Barbieri, and Ashley Axson (Jason Drew); great grandchildren, Shepherd, Tucker, Vivian Dixon and Danyele and Bryan Axson; a brother, Robert (Donna) Barbieri and numerous nieces and nephews.
