Jimmy Lenwood Still, 82 of the Bamberg Community went peacefully to be with the Lord surrounded by his family at home early Saturday, May 18, 2024.
Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Jimmy was a well-known contractor for 60 years and was the owner of Still’s Construction Company, Inc. in Bamberg. He attended Bamberg Church of God of Prophecy and was a Member of the Denmark Church of God of Prophecy. A big accomplishment for him was to make his own gospel music CD’s in Nashville, Tenn. Jimmy was a volunteer gospel singer at the Allendale Correctional Institute. Men of all descriptions would come forward for prayers and forgiveness. Over the years countless lives were changed through his gospel music. He proudly served in the US ARMY. Jimmy was a family man who always put God first in his life. He enjoyed coaching softball, watching his children and grandchildren playing sports and was their #1 fan. He also enjoyed fishing and coon hunting and going to football games.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, June Still; 2 daughters, Crystal Vallentine and Candice (Robert) Hutto; his grandchildren, Cearstan and Drake Atkinson and Cameron, Cylee and Cade Gunnells and Colin and Kaylin Hutto; a brother, Glennon Still; a sister, Irene Pate; a very special, loving cousin, Gearldine Carroll and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Haywood and Cora Lee Still; sisters, Maddilee Still, Ethelee Croft and Evedell Still and a brother Larry Still.
Funeral services for Jimmy will be held at 2p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverends Timmy Gunnells and Rick Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the South End Cemetery in Bamberg. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6p.m. until 8p.m. at the funeral home in Williston.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Drake Atkinson, Shaun Atkinson, Moye Brandt, Shaun Brandt, Jerry Proveaux and Jimmy Sutton.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Gene Bryant, Cade Gunnells, John Pate and Steve Stanley, Jr.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for all of the kindness and support shown to them during Jimmy’s illness.
