A Celebration of Life Service for Jimmie Achille Collins, 47, of Cayce, SC will be held at three o’clock p.m., Sunday, June 14, 2020 in the Hilda First Baptist Church with the Reverend Tony Carter officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be sent to Hilda First Baptist Church, 145 Church St., Barnwell, SC 29812.
Born in Barnwell County, SC, he was a son of Achille Sassard Collins, Jr. and Melba Sue Fenn Smith. He was a Body Technician for Caliber Collision, Columbia, SC. He enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid Gamecock fan; he loved to fish, listen to music, and play the guitar. He was very artistic and enjoyed painting. Jimmie was a jack-of-all-trades and a master-of-all. He was a machinist and won many machine shop titles through-out his Junior and Senior years of high school and won the state title in his Senior year. Jimmie had a gentle spirit along with a heart of gold; he would do anything for anyone helping them in any way that they needed; he will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his mother Melba Smith of Cayce; his father Achille (Carolyn) Collins, Jr. of Hilda; his son Skye Collins of Cayce; a granddaughter Leilah Mae Collins; his special friend Gail Flowers of Irmo; a sister Tracey Collins of Hilda; brothers Trey (Tammie) Collins of Hilda, Brent Hall of Cayce, and Shelton Hall of Pelion; maternal grandfather Jimmie O. Fenn; his beloved four-legged companion Blaze; a niece Carleigh Davis; a nephew Holden Hair and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Carolyn D. “BaBa” Fenn and his paternal grandparents Achille Collins, Sr., and Ruth Morris Collins.
