Funeral services for Jimmy Lester “Jim” Furtick, 87, of Williston, SC will be held at eleven o’clock a.m., Saturday, July 31, 2021 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with burial in the Springfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Mr. Jim passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.
Born in Springfield, SC he was a son of the late Robert Maury Furtick, Sr. and Lester Mae Kennerly Furtick and was married to the late Eva Madelyn Rountree Furtick. He was a member of the Williston United Methodist Church. Mr. Jim retired from Pfizer as a chemical operator. He loved farming row crops, and raising sheep and goats, he continued farming for years after his retirement from Pfizer. He also enjoyed fishing, quail hunting and tending to his sheep.
Survivors include his sons Dale (Wendy) Furtick of Aiken and Dean (Terri) Furtick of Springfield; his brother Wayne (Julia) Furtick of Springfield; grandchildren Christy Furtick, Dylan Furtick, Curt Furtick, Staci (Jason) Porter, a great grandson Trace Furtick; sisters-in-law Ethel Ann Furtick and Dorothy Ellis; his long-time friend Lewis Boice and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Madelyn Furtick, he was preceded in death by his sisters Mae Busbee, Joyce Richbourg and Curgie Furtick and his brothers Jack Furtick, Colby “Cob” Furtick and Oswald “O.K” Furtick.
