Jewel Brant Davis, 93 of Denmark, SC passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
Born in Allendale County, SC she was a daughter of the late George Henry Brant and Maryann Deer “Mami Sue” Brant. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Thomas “Tommy” Davis, Sr. Jewel was an active member of the Denmark First Baptist Church for over 70 years, serving in the kitchen, meals on wheels and on numerous other committees throughout the church. She was secretary for the Denmark Lions Club, served on the Chamber of Commerce and the Thoroughbred Country South Carolina boards and was on the board of the Lower Savannah Council of Government. Jewel was very active in the Denmark Garden Club and the Dogwood Festival committee.
Survivors include her children, Miriam (Donald) Bessinger of Ehrhardt, SC, Will (Sherry) Davis of Williston, SC and George (Patsy) Davis of Aiken, SC; her grandchildren, Jeremy (Cathrine) Bessinger, Daniel (Jodie) Bessinger, Erica (Austin) Rodgers, Clete (Pamela) Davis, Brandi (Ronnie) Daves, Curtis (Amber) Davis, Christina Davis, Betsy (Wesley) Jerrell and Brittany (Dakota) Hilton; great-grandchildren, Noah, Arlee and Davis Bessinger, Delanie, Harper and Bristol Bessinger, Hadley and Mason Rodgers, Case and Colt Davis, Logan and Landon Daves, Anslee and Thomas Davis and Brooklyn and Brianna Jerrell; a brother-in-law, Bob Herring and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Lina Herring and 4 brothers, Henry Brant, Hank Brant, Jack Brant and Bill Brant.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 22, 2026 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the church sanctuary. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2026 at the Denmark First Baptist Church with the Reverends Andy Hunter and Drew Bolin officiating. Burial will follow at Bamberg County Memory Gardens.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jeremy Bessinger, Daniel Bessinger, Clete Davis, Curtis Davis, Austin Rodgers, Ronnie Daves, Wesley Jerrell and Dakota Hilton.
The family wishes to thank Cierra Smith, Dawn Milhouse and the staff of Amedysis Hospice for their care given to Ms. Jewel and to Amy Chavis, Katrina Chavis and Megan Folk for their love, care and time spent with her at home.
